Perfecting the UMA artefacts’ user experience and optimizing their form for better production capacity and more personalization.

+

UMA is an innovative project from the Lune Rouge company, an initiative from visionary Guy Laliberté.

UMA’s mission is very ambitious; it aims to modernize funeral rites and our way of commemorating the lives of our loved ones using technology and avant-garde artefacts that will stand the test of time.

+

This project is the fruit of close collaboration between Lune Rouge and three accomplished design studios.

The foundations of the digital ecosystem and the line of artefacts were imagined by SEYMOURPOWELL. Then, TAK Design took up the torch, designing the physical objects.

ALTO Design perfected the artefacts’ user experience and refined their look in preparation for production and marketing.

+

Nothing was left to chance.

The way each artefact was handled, its movement, weight, feel and sound, were studied and perfected in order to make the overall experience harmonious and peaceful.

Our interventions regarding process optimization and the choice of materials enabled a significant reduction in production costs without compromising the high quality or the solemnity of the artefacts.

In addition to putting the final touches on the majority of the main artefacts, we have also designed a line of complementary objects with the aim of expanding the possibilities for interaction and aesthetic combinations.
