FTB Lite Portable Test Platform
Portable, self-contained test equipment
With a view to renewing and optimizing its most popular professional test platform, EXFO asked us to develop a new formal and technical resolution for its device, with the aim of making it the basis for its future full range of scalable handheld devices.
Robustness and precision, as well as modularity, were the key elements guiding the definition of this new platform.
An intuitive, modular platform
The comprehensive exercise of redefining the formal and graphic language of the new platform made it possible to establish beforehand the main themes that then marked out a comprehensive study aimed at optimizing architecture and ergonomics.
Precise lines and controlled angles give the case a reassuringly effective language, while the fine texture of the grip-in-hand areas adds a touch of refinement and quality in an often utilitarian and austere field.
The optimized layout and integration of components has resulted in a more compact design that is comfortable to hold, while laying the foundations for future platform evolution. In this way, the screen interface becomes a self-contained unit that can be repeated and used on other devices in the range currently under development, providing a high degree of modularity and an opportunity to reduce inventories while increasing assembly efficiency.
